7 lessons from Wendy Clark

One of my favorite women in advertising, Colleen DeCourcy, invited me to attend today’s Advertising Women of New York luncheon where they honored mentors. The keynote speaker was Wendy Clark, SVP of Integrated Marketing at Coca-Cola. I’ve heard great things about Wendy from my colleeges at Cake, so was excited to her thoughts on being a women in the business. She gave an excellent speech that was thoughtful, touching and funny. I thought I’d share the 7 tips she outlined:

1. Don’t be above doing anything.

2. Never believe your own press. (You’ll stop trying so hard)

3. Talk less and listen more.

4. Lift as you climb. (Empathy is one of our gender’s gifts)

5. Be yourself.

6. Integrity is non negotiable.

7. Find what it is you love.
