Crazy Loves Company

I am a 30something single gal living in NYC. This site is a curation of things I love (marketing, travel, shopping, pop culture and photography) with a bit of my life sprinkled in the mix. I hope you find something that piques your interest.

Feel free to drop me a line at stacykfuller@gmail.com.

This past weekend I went to Chicago to celebrate Stella’s pending nuptials. I must say that I was hesitant to go at first, what with spending so much time in the city for work. However, being around my soriety sisters and friends from when I lived in the city circa 1999-2001 as well as meeting Stella’s adorable friends from Dallas really made the weekend a treat. Plus it was nice to spend time in the city without cramming in a bunch of meetings ;)
What was on the agenda you might ask? A whirlwind of girlie activities:
Homebase was the Sofitel, nice lounge, amazing beds and perfect downtown location
Dinner at Francesca’s on Chestnut (my fav Chicago Italian institution now has a downtown local, fantastic)
Drinks at English (a little too loud for my blood, do I sound old or what? My therory is it’s the perfect pick up joint because you can’t actually talk to the person you like, you have to go purely off attractiveness. Plus the vibe was having an identity crisis, sports bar, club, lounge, pub? Trying to be all four is not a good look)
I went home early with the pregos (Lex & Jen are expecting, but were real troopers over the weekend) the rest of the team stayed out a wee bit later.
Next AM sandwiches at Potbelly’s (delish) and then shopping on Michigan Ave (a staple of any chi-town girls’ weekend)
High Tea at The Drake
Lingerie shopping at Agent Provocateur (seriously, can I fall more in love with this store? They handled a shop full of woman like champs)
A few of us then split off to check out the Architectural Tour. The sights were great and all (plus they serve booze, score) but we couldn’t help but keep referring to that scene in My Best Friend’s Wedding when Julia and Dermot dance on the boat. *Sigh*
Dinner at Sushi Samba
Drag show at The Baton Club
Drinks at Bull & Bear (what’s with all the high end sports bars?!)
Prerequisite visit to night club Cuvee
The weekend had it all; drunk soririety sisters, penis accoutrements, racy lingerie and drag queens. What more could a girl ask for before she gets married ;)
